The Good Fortune Daruma is a doll representing Bodhidharma, the founder of the zen tradition in Buddhism, which used in Japan to wish others or oneself good fortune and protection. It comes with blank eyes, and the left eye is drawn when the wish is made. The second eye is painted when the wish comes true.
